As we enter a new year, the 11th for Workplace Pride, we are ready to face the challenges that a changing world present us. With this in mind, and to make our communication more user-friendly, we will be greatly simplifying our website and updating our social media outreach to include more of our members’ own activities and news items. A toolkit, making all aspects of LGBT workplace inclusion more practical and effective, will be rolled out for our members this year, while our new Chair at Leiden University, Dr. Jojanneke van der Toorn, will delve into the scientific aspects of the topic and be frequently engaged with our members in the process.
The action gets started at the annual Workplace Pride New Year’s reception, this year being hosted by Randstad Groep Nederland CEO, Chris Heutink on 19 January at the company’s world headquarters in Amsterdam. Later in the year, studies that the Foundation took part in together with the European Union and the United Nations will be released, and will underline the need for continued cooperation among businesses and governments on LGBT workplace inclusion.
We are all looking forward to working with ILGA Europe on our International Conference in Brussels on 23 June (mark it in your agendas!) in addition to major events in the planning stage with Young@WorkplacePride and Women@WorkplacePride.
All in all a content-heavy year, but also one filled with dozens of networking opportunities; both of which keep our community strong and determined to create positive change.
