Amsterdam Pride on the Horizon!
Post Date: June 27, 2018
Workplace Pride is gearing up for the annual Amsterdam Pride celebrations, one of the leading and largest Pride events in the world. In contrast to the past though, the Foundation will focus more on the individual and personal impact of what Pride really means to so many people. Through two targeted events,* Workplace Pride will highlight that, alongside their employer, each individual also has an important role to play in LGBTI inclusion, both at work and in society:
- PRIDE BRUNCH AND WALK– Saturday, 28th of July: To kick off Amsterdam Pride week, Workplace Pride will host an open ‘croissant and mimosa’ Brunch for LGBTI community members and supporters at its office in Amsterdam. Participants will then be invited to join Workplace Pride at the Pride Walk to show our solidarity with everyone fighting for continued inclusion of LGBTI people in society. Participation is free, but registration is required though via clicking on the invitation below.
- STORIES FROM THE HEART– Thursday, 2nd of August: Workplace Pride is teaming up with its members, the Dutch Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Heineken, to highlight the work of 12 LGBTI activists from Africa and the Middle East** who will share their own experiences of activism in sometimes challenging circumstance. The event will be held at the Hotel de L’Europe in Amsterdam. Participation is free for Workplace Pride Members and €25 for non-members. ** Countries represented include: Morocco, Turkey, Israel, Egypt, Tunisia, Algeria, South-Africa, Zimbabwe, Lebanon, Senegal, Burundi, Sudan.
Come join us and help PRIDE continue to be a moment in which we all stop, reflect and celebrate the inclusion and solidarity of the LGBTI movement world wide!
