Dear Readers,

This fall has been a time of recognition for all those people and organisations that have played, and continue to play an important role in LGBTI workplace inclusion. More than 165 guests celebrated these achievements at the fabulous Workplace Pride 2017 Leadership Awards Dinner. Nuon came away with the most active LGBTI employee network award at the event and IBM, Dow, Accenture and Shell were highlighted as top scorers on the 2017 Global Benchmark survey. Congratulations go to everyone though for their ongoing efforts!
This is not the only accomplishment though! The UN Global Business Standards on LGBTI Discrimination was launched, the 1st European Lesbian Conference took place in Vienna and ASML has signed the Declaration of Amsterdam. Workplace Pride played important roles in each of these initiatives and it is with pride that we continue to keep the topic of LGBTI workplace inclusion on the top of mind for our stakeholders.

Happy Reading!

Executive Director

UN GLOBAL BUSINESS STANDARDS LAUNCHED
Workplace Pride has collaborated with the United Nations Human Rights Office and the Institute for Human Rights and Business to develop global standards for business on tackling discrimination against lesbian, gay, bi, trans and intersex (LGBTI) people in the workplace and beyond. The new standards were launched by UN High Commissioner for Human Rights Zeid at a press event at Microsoft Tuesday, 26 September 2017 with an appeal to the business sector to help move the needle towards greater equality and fair treatment for LGBTI people everywhere.
