International Day Against Homophobia, Biphobia, Interphobia and Transphobia

Today, on May 17th, it is the moment of the year that we all stand still to recognise the work that has been done by many activists and supporters around the world and to take stock of where we are.

Unfortunately, things are not as rose coloured as many of us thought in the past. Society is going backwards in many places as we have seen with Tanzania, Poland, Brunei and recently in Cuba.

While there is much to celebrate with some positive developments in many parts of the word. We know now that we can never let down our guard and we must continue to work together to create a world where lesbians, gay men, bisexuals, transgender and intersex people can live in peace with dignity.

Workplace Pride continues to play a role by creating an ongoing dialogue on this topic with employers around the world. We do this through direct interaction with organisations, governments and communities through conferences, international events, activities, research and a great deal of interaction.

Today we are supporting the IDAHOT-LGBTI Conference in Bangkok organised during the Dutch Sustainability Days. Workplace pride is participating as a knowledge partner.

In October 2018 we held a groundbreaking roundtable in Moscow on LGBTI inclusion in the Russian workplace. Read the article here.

Last April, we held a full house Lesbian and Business Roundtable at the Dutch Embassy in Kiev during the European Lesbian Conference (EL*C). You can read the full report here.

Our annual International Conference this year will focus on Sustainability and LGBTI inclusion. We expect 300+ attendees and a busy event with 12 breakout sessions that will explore the future of LGBTI inclusion for the coming 50 years. Go to the conference website here.

We encourage you to join us in reaching out to the many people who are willing to help us in our cause but may need a little extra explanation or encouragement, together we can make IDAHOT -IDAHOBIT a day that his effective, memorable and most importantly, impactful.
