Workplace Pride is excited to be working with Leiden University students on a unique project dealing with LGBT workplace inclusion around the world.
The project involves forty students from the Bachelor of Arts International Studies Program who are taking part in an International Consultancy Project. The students have been tasked by Workplace Pride to provide solutions for how our globally active member organizations can better approach, and thus make decisions, on their LGBT policies and practices. The students will divide into 4 groups of 10 people each and undertake a ‘deep dive’ analysis into the political, socio-economic, legal and cultural-historical aspects of countries around the world. This data will be matched with publicly available information about how and where Workplace Pride members engage with LGBT inclusion. The entire project is structured in the form of a consultancy to give students the experience of working in ’the real world’.
David Pollard, Executive Director of Workplace Pride Foundation gave an opening lecture on the 3rd of February to the students and outlined the project parameters and challenge. In the coming 3 months, representatives from Accenture, Shell, ABN AMRO and the Workplace Pride Chair at Leiden University will present additional guest lectures to provide a comprehensive overview of the landscape for global LGBT workplace inclusion.
The winning solution will be chosen in May by a jury from the Foundation and subsequently presented to Workplace Pride members.
