Title
Celebrating LGBTIQ+ All Year

Abstract:
Some organisations celebrate Pride month through large-scale campaigns, raising and flying the LGBTIQ+ Pride flag, or even through particular rainbow-themed marketing strategies in the month of June. In the worldwide political climate, these extravagant celebrations may not be possible for more and more organisations. Amidst fear of backlash, the need to maintain neutrality, and the desire to avoid performative allyship, Workplace Pride members come together to discuss the motivations of specifically celebrating Pride as a method of protecting and engaging diverse stakeholders. Together we will talk about all of the ways companies can navigate Pride celebrations throughout the year as a directive to foster inclusivity and support.
Objectives
Discussion of the motivations for pride celebrations
Address the risks and rewards of engaging in pride celebrations authentically and all year
Explore examples of how organisations can adapt their pride strategies to adhere to the current international political context.
At Workplace Pride we hold regular member exchanges. These member exchanges are interactions, collaborations, and support networks established among members of Workplace Pride who share a commitment to promoting LGBTIQ+ inclusion in the workplace. These exchanges involve the sharing of knowledge, experiences, best practices, and resources related to fostering diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI) in work environments.
Hope to see you there,
