Join us for a day celebrating 10 years of the Chair in LGBTIQ+ Workplace Inclusion and the vibrant, growing community of scholars and practitioners advancing research and practice on LGBTIQ+ inclusion at work.
Organised by Prof.dr. Jojanneke van der Toorn in collaboration with Workplace Pride, including Academia@Workplace Pride and POC@Workplace Pride, the symposium will bring together scholars and practitioners to share research, exchange ideas, and explore how research can inform more inclusive workplaces. Parts of the program will also be streamed, making the conversation accessible beyond those attending in person.
The program will feature:
- Research talks showcasing exciting work in the field
- Networking and exchange among scholars and practitioners
- Lunch and informal conversations
- An interactive session on intersectional policy design, exploring how workplace policies can better account for intersecting identities and experiences

The symposium will take place in the Telders Auditorium in Leiden University’s historic Academy Building, located in the heart of Leiden.
Getting to the venue
By train
Leiden is well connected by train to Amsterdam, Schiphol Airport, The Hague, Rotterdam and other Dutch cities.
From Leiden Central Station, the Academy Building is within walking distance of the city centre. Local buses also depart from the bus station in front of Leiden Central Station.
For journey planning, we recommend using the NS Journey Planner or 9292 for public transport connections.
By bus
Most local and regional buses depart from the bus station directly in front of Leiden Central Station. From there, the Academy Building can be reached on foot or by local bus.
By car
The Academy Building is located in the historic centre of Leiden, where parking is limited. We recommend travelling by public transport where possible.
If you are travelling by car, please allow extra time to find parking and walk to the venue.
By bicycle
Leiden is a bicycle-friendly city, and cycling is one of the easiest ways to get around the city. Bicycle parking facilities are available at several Leiden University locations.
