2020 New Year’s Reception hosted by VodafoneZiggo

On January 23rd, Workplace Pride’s New Year’s reception highlighted the coming year’s events and activities.

It’s another trip around the Sun and Workplace Prides annual New Year’s reception once again was an important and popular event that brought our growing number of members and supporters together to take a look at the Foundation’s exciting plans for 2020.

This year, VodafoneZiggo graciously hosted the event at their stunning headquarters in Utrecht with Thomas Mulder, Executive Director of HR, giving an impassioned speech after a short video overview of their companies activities and emphasising how important it is to create workplaces where inclusivity is made a stronger priority.

David Pollard, Executive Director of Workplace Pride, continued with an overview of the positive progress that has been made with LGBTI inclusion in societies around the world, e.g. same-sex marriage legalisation in Taiwan (a first in Asia!) and reminding attendees that the road to deeper inclusivity worldwide is still littered with sometimes serious consequences for the marginalised.

Already in January, four new members of Workplace Pride were showcased with Tilburg University, Hema, Fed Ex and Intertrust joining the fold. These organisations showcase diversity in the types of members and sectors that are now getting involved with Workplace Pride and our common goals of diversity and inclusion.

This was followed by a major announcement and launch of the Global Employee Survey (GES), brand new for 2020 which went live at the new years’ event. More information about the GES and the Global benchmark survey for organisations will be available very soon!

The Workplace Pride 2020 Global Benchmark survey launches on February 3rd. Workplace Pride’s 2020 annual International Conference will be held for the first time in Rotterdam at the World Trade Center on June 19th. The theme for the conference will be “Great Expectations: Envisioning a New Decade of Workplace Inclusion”. Be sure to save the date on your calendar!

Many thanks to Vodafone/Ziggo for hosting and everyone who participated and made the evening a great success!
